| April 29 TOKYO (Kyodo) -- "Actor Koji Yakusho is among 674 individuals and 20 groups listed as recipients of the Japanese government's spring decorations, the government said Saturday. Yakusho, 56, whose real name is Koji Hashimoto, is among 25 individuals who have been awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon, which is given in recognition of contributions to the arts, academia and sport. He recently raised his international profile by starring in the U.S. films "Memoirs of a Geisha" in 2005 and "Babel" in 2006." April 9 Koji Yakusho was recently nominated for the award for Outstanding Performance for his role in the TV drama, "Early Autumn" (Shoshu) directed by Masato Harada, to be made at the 52 Monte-Carlo TV Festival, which is to be held from June 10 to 14, 2012. Masato Harada was nominated for Best Director and the drama was nominated for Best Film. April 4, 2012 The Blue-ray disk and DVD for "Isoroku Yamamoto / Admiral Yamamoto: The Untold Story of the Pacific War" are due to be on sale in Japan from July 13, 2012. March 20 The premiere for "Chronicle of My Mother" was held in Tokyo on March 19 withe the presence of Director Masato Harada, Koji Yakusho, Kirin Kiki, Aoi Miyazaki, Mimura and Akiko Kikuchi. January 28 The full trailer for "Chronicle of My Mother" is now available. January 23 Tokyograph; The 35th Japan Academy Prize Winners were anounced on January 16. Shigemichi Sugita's "The Last Ronin / Saigono Chushingura / starring Koji Yakusho and Koichi Sato won 12 prizes. January 18 The official site for "Chronicle of My Mother" announced that Koji Yakusho was nominated as 'the Best Actor' at the 6th Asian Film Award for his performance for "Chronicle of My Mother".
