| In his first film, Koji Yakusho appears briefly twice as Kuwano- no- Sadahachi, a henchman under Gomyo- no- Seiemon (Tatsuya Nakadai) . His voice is more clearly recognizable than his figure, when he first appears with Yoshio Harada and Hajime Hana at Seiemon's basement scene. |

| This is a film depicting University students, who were enforced to leave their universities to be drafted into the army or navy during the Pacific War. The major focus is put on some baseball team players at various universities in Tokyo. Koji Yakusho appears briefly twice in this film as a Tokyo University student, named Takao Kurahashi. He appears as one of the student-Kamikaze pilots, with the hero of this film, Shingo Akiyama, (Toshiyuki Nagashima). "Soukei-sen" means the traditinal baseball games between Waseda University and Keio University, the two major private universities in Tokyo. |
